baker’s hands

To me, spending time in my kitchen is almost as good as spending time behind the camera.  I love to cook and find it so therapeutic.
I come from a long line of Sicilian women(and a few men too) who are all really great cooks.   I learned from my mom, her mom, as well as my aunts and uncles.   It is not uncommon for our family to text each other pictures of our food and tell each other about new recipes we have tried.   We are definitely a foodie family.   It gives me great joy to be able to watch my kids in the kitchen while trying to pass on some of what was taught to me over the years.  The girls were thrilled when they woke up and found out what I had planned for them.
Sarah had to go to basketball, so Reagan and I made the dough and refrigerated it until Sarah got back.
Then together, they rolled, cut, and baked the cookies.   Sometimes it is the simplest things that give them the most pleasure.
Definitely a morning to remember.

  • Denise - Lisa – I’m so glad that you have a new blog. I love looking at your beautiful photos and missed seeing them once you stopped updating The Long Road to China.

We also adopted our daughter from China – that’s how I found your blog years ago.

    Have a great weekend!
